The day starts very early at InDemand, in New York City, especially when there is a Sirius Radio Best of Howard Stern show to mix. On this day Joseph Gauci of Maltajo Productions is warming up the Pro Tools rig, at InDemand, and getting ready for a full day of power mixing. The guest on this show was the one and only Lady Gaga. Wild, flamboyant, beautiful and unpredictable Lady Gaga had no problem turning the Howard Stern Show crew upside down. “The live audio had its challenges,” says Gauci, “ but the InDemand studios have the best and latest gear to help me get the job done. This is one of my favorite places to work”. You can find this show on Sirius Radio Best of Howard Stern show Pay Per View!

Yes that’s right! The good people at Madison Square Garden Networks called on Maltajo Productions to produce their radio campaigns. “Our first project”, says Joseph Gauci, “was a promo for the New York Giants pre and post game shows that air on MSG. We took the old time radio approach for the sound design with a bunch of great hard hitting tackles, grunts, crowds and rocking music. I feel that you should be able to visualize the radio you listen to”. Listen for this spot on ESPN Radio all season long!

Maltajo Productions of Tarrytwon, NY lent a professional hand to Saranne Rothberg, of the Comedy Cures foundation, in recording Rob Manotti doing an impression of President Obama reading an introduction to a AIF Fundraiser Gala event in Chicago.
“Through networking with Fran Capo, I received a frantic email stating Saranne was in need of an emergency, last minute recording,” says Joe Gauci owner of Maltajo Productions. “Saranne needed to record Rob Magnotti, a well known comedian and impressionist introducing the Gala as President Obama. They wanted to record Robs’ impression of the President introducing the fundraiser in Chicago.” With time running out she networked her way to Maltajo Productions. “We set up a record date and decided it would be great if it were recorded over the phone since President Obama is a very busy man it would work as a great effect. We did a phone patch linking Mr. Magnotti to our studio in Tarrytown, NY and it worked like a charm!”
AIF (American India Foundation) provides therapeutic humor programs that bring joy and laughter to children and adults living with illness, depression, trauma and disabilities. The Gala event raised over $100,000.00 for AIF!
“I do a lot of PSA and charity work, says Joe, “it makes me feel good to give back.”

Sessions have started at Maltajo Productions for the new and upcoming recording artist Renee Suaste’s Latest project, “Sing 2 Us 2”. Renee is well known for her Soul and Rock sounds on the Austin Texas scene. Basic tracks were started in May at JWTWO studios with the help of A1 Assistant Craig Caniglia. You can also hear Craig tickling the ivories in the background as he lent his talents on the keyboard. “We did all the basic guitar tracks in New York City,” says Renee. “It was very exciting to work in the fast pace of a real professional recording facility in NYC,” she said. ” Joe Gauci, my engineer and producer on this project, was relentless in the studio. Always pushing me to my limits and striving for perfection on every take.”
After basics were completed at JWTWO, the project continued at Maltajo Studios NE in Tarrytown, N.Y. This project featured James Maguire on bass, Michael Stella on lead guitar, Juan Dieguez on percussion and Craig Caniglia on keys.
Many tracks were recorded in other studios – some as far away as Miami, Florida – and sent to Maltajo Studios via FTP. “By letting the musicians work in their own environment and at their own pace,” says Joe Gauci, “the whole process was much easier and much more streamlined.”
The goal is for the album to be mixed and ready to ship by the holidays.
We will be sure to keep you updated on this thrilling project!
